Wheel alignment is part of standard automobile maintenance that consists of adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are set to the car maker's specification.
The purpose of these adjustments is to reduce tyre wear and to ensure that vehicle travel is straight and true (without "pulling" to one side). The primary angles are the basic angle alignment of the wheels relative to each other and to the car body. These adjustments are the camber, caster and toe. On some cars, not all of these can be adjusted on every wheel.
Every wheel has camber, caster and toe angles - when they are correctly aligned, your car drives straight. When the camber, caster and toe angles are misaligned, wheel alignment problems can arise. Your vehicle can pull to the left or right or your tires can wear unevenly. At a basic level, the camber angle, caster angle and toe angle keeps your tires, steering and overall vehicle driving straight and even alignment machine

Why Need Four-Wheel Alignment

Our cars need a regular wheel alignment check/service every 12 - 15,00 mile or once a year. In doing this motorists can save money on fuel, tyres, improve safety and handling.
Wheel alignment errors can cause three basic problems on your car. Your regular tire we're handling problems and a crooked steering wheel. A common indicator of misalignment is excessive shoulder we're on a tire. This type of irregular where is often caused by errors and camber or toe. camber which is the inward or outward till to the wheel can cause outside shoulder where if the wheel is tilted too far out. If the wheel is tilted too far in board, the inside shoulder will wear, this problem can occur at the front or rear. Tow errors will also call shoulder where in fact very rapid where if the wheels are pointed too far in board the outside of the trend will wear First rapid inside where will occur if the wheels are pointed too far out. A pool problem is another indicator of misalignment an alignment pool can be caused by side to side errors in camber or side to side errors in castor.
If the front wheels are both tilted to the left, this can cause the car to always want to steer to the left, if the front wheels are both tilted to the right, the car will tend to want to steer right all the time. Another way to introduce a pool is with errors in castor, castor which is the front to rear tail to the steering axis should be the same on each side.
If for example the right side is positive and the left side is negative, the front wheels will try to steer the car to the left all the time.
Misalignment will also cause a crooked steering wheel. If the car is properly aligned the steering wheel will be straight, but errors in front o or errors in rear toe will cause the steering wheel position to change.
So if you see a shift in the position of your steering wheel unusual tire wear or if your car is pulling get an alignment check as soon as possible, waiting will only make the situation worse.

What Are The Different Types Of Wheel Alignments?

Regardless of the type of vehicle that you drive, proper wheel alignment is very important when it comes to protecting your vehicle, your tires, and the people inside. While wheel alignment issues aren’t always noticeable, here are some obvious problems to watch out for:
A crooked steering wheel while driving down a straight road.
The vehicle pulls to either the right or left side.
Your tires start to wear rapidly and/or unevenly.
Your tires squeal as you accelerate or turn.

What is a Thrust Angle Alignment?

The thrust angle is an imaginary line that is drawn perpendicular from the centerline of the rear axle, down the centerline of the vehicle. The purpose of the thrust angle is to determine if the rear axle is lined up with the center of the vehicle, as well as the front axle. The thrust angle also determines if the wheel base on both sides of the vehicle is the same.

A thrust angle alignment attends to the procedure that is covered in a front end alignment, but it also ensures that all four wheels are squared. A thrust angle alignment is recommended for vehicles that have independent rear suspensions. If any of the wheels have incorrect toe, or if your vehicle handles differently when turning in one direction versus the other, then a thrust angle alignment will likely solve the problem. This alignment yields a better result in tire wear, fuel economy, and safety.

What is a Four –Wheel Alignment?

A four wheel alignment is useful for vehicles that have 4 wheel independent suspensions, or front wheel drive vehicles with adjustable rear suspensions. A four wheel alignment will measure and position the rear axle angles, as well as everything involved with both front wheel alignments and thrust angle alignments. The four wheel alignment essentially restores all four corners of your vehicle back to the manufacturer’s specifications. It is the most comprehensive alignment that results in the best overall handling for the vehicles performance, and tire wear.
When your vehicle is properly aligned, you can keep it running at peak performance if you maintain the correct tire pressure, and drive at least semi-conservatively. When you’re due for your next wheel alignment, stop by Town Fair Tire for excellent service at an affordable price.
